May 4, 2011

Alright family, so I’m owing you a good e-mail. First off, I’m going to try and call you Saturday about 2 or 2:30 our time. Then on Sunday, I’ll try and call about 3oclock your time. If that doesn’t work or there is a better time just let me know Saturday when I call.

Well, sounds like you guys had a fun birthday for Jako. I’m sure mom took tons of pics. I hope so, I wanna see them. I can’t wait to play with them. Every kid I see, I ask how old he is to try and compare how old Monty and Jake will be. Judging by the pics, they’re both characters. So, here in Brotas, we are doing good. It was kinda a slow start out here cause neither of us had passed through Salvador... and it’s like a whole new mission out here and we started from nothing. We have some good people we are working with. There are a lot of people that need to get married though... I hate unmarried people and it’s like everyone! There are a lot of stairs
and hills here... lots so my legs are about done.

The ward is good. It’s kinda little but there are some cool young men here that are helping us out. Also, some cool recent converts.

Today we went and played football with the zone, so I got to see Paulich, Vitelli, Ellsworth and Ricker. Ricker seems to be doing good. Vitelli told me that his mom is doing good. Vitelli challenged me in ping pong. Killed him!! Then he started wrestling me ... also killed him!! So I’m kinda like a king to him. It was fun. I made a “sick” goal... and now my feet are all blistered up. I tried to play without shoes... mistake. But it was fun. How is g pa doing? I keep forgetting to ask. I really hope he gets well soon cause we’ve got some jeep and fishing trips to make up
and I don’t wanna have to be wheeling him around in a wheel chair up in the mountains.

I’m scared that when I get home I’m going to freeze to death. Well. Justin parabens ... you’re the first cat I know who went to state for bassoon....I thought during these 2 years you would get cooler but looks like some how you managed to get “nerdier” ha! Just messin ... but kinda true ;)

Well, my time is about up but I love you all...oh and now our p-day will be Monday so you gotta write me before then,

Loves,
Elder Anderson

Family, we are running so late... but I’m good. I love you and I’ll write you a lot next week. About the call, I don’t know anything just how we normally do it. I’ll call you the 7th to plan in out. Next week I’ll write more.

Love you all!

p.s. I had a dream that mom knocked on my apt door. I ran out and hugged her. It was terrible to work after that! Ha
Love you all
*Konni was a little upset at the shortness of the email until she read the p.s. Now it’s her favorite email.

Hey family,
So…life here in Brotas is like a whole new mission. I’m having to re-learn all over again. Elder Cruz has also never passed through Salvador so we are learning together. We are really different but he is a good humble guy who really wants to do good. We are getting along just fine. The other “dupla” in our house are goof troops but whatever.

This week we found a bunch of new investigators already so we’re excited with them... not too many baptisms in the near near future but hopefully here shortly we get some baptism. I got some more letters from mom that had pics. of Jako and monster (Monty). I had a dream that I was kickin’ it with Monty. I miss that kid.

They say it’s hotter here but I don’t believe it. Ilheus seems so much hotter ...it is the hottest place in the world ... I felt like I was being cook every day. Here is hot too and full of hills, my knees are killing me. We went for a jog this morning. I almost died!

Well, mom looks like you and me both are candy buyin’. When my throat was sore, I was popping Mentos every day.

Well, I love you guys. I don’t have too many stories yet but I’m sure next week I’ll have some. I can’t believe I’m gonna call you in like 2 weeks. Then just 3 more of these e mails.... trippy.

Well, I love you
amo minha familia!

Hey family
Yeah, that’s our church (Dom João VI). We live on the same road... just follow it until you see a huge Catholic Church and we live in the apt. in front of it. This week was ok... I was super sick the whole time... that stunk. I’ve had a sore throat for a week straight... if I sleep with the fan on, my throat gets worse. If I don’t sleep with a fan, I sweat a lot and can’t sleep; it’s rained a couple times... one sec I’ll finish this.

Sorry, I had to send pres. a letter. Anyways we’re doing good. This place is just full of hills... there aren’t any flat spots and there no subtle hills. It’s like straight up and down... my knees are a hurtin’ but just 5 more weeks and they can rest from hill climbing. We’re doing well... I just got about 4 letters from mom, so I’m excited to go read those tonight.

Love you all ... I bought some more souvenirs today and took pictures by the huge elevator. It was cool. Take care.

Love,
Elder Anderson
