Hey there fam.

Thanks for the e mail and the pictures. Looks like a nice fish Pops, and the lathe looks sweet – can’t wait to use it. If your making an adapter for the (drill) chuck, I’m assuming you’ll also be doing a taper? Enjoy :) Ha just kidding. I don’t think it will be too bad.

Mom and Dad, do you guys talk to each other? Dad asks if my Brasilian comp speaks english and Mom asks if my comp is American? Ha ha. He is Brasilian and he speaks some english but he has never studied it - just what he has picked up from hearing missionaries, which is crazy to me. But in the house we speak english and in the street we speak port to help him and to help me, because he wants to go to BYU some day. But anyways I like him a lot. He is really a good missionary and is teaching me so much. We have lots of investigators, have baptisms planned out for the next two weeks, and baptized a man this week. And he loves to have fun too. We’re always playing tops with the kids or play soccer - first to 3 goals - or something like that but while we play he is always talking to them about the church and stuff. It’s really neat and an effective way to work. Oh and he lives in Sao Paulo.

Did you guys get the pictures I sent last week? Yesterday we were talking to some people in this neighbor hood and we can see a man working under a car that’s up on jacks maybe 4 houses down and we hear the car fall off the jacks and we look and see the man trapped under it and a little boy trying to lower the jack as fast as he can to lift the car off his dad but it was a wind jack and the guy is just screaming, so we run over there and me and my comp lift the car off of him. Luckily their cars aren’t so big here, but the man was ok - just a couple cuts. And in this neighborhood is a big cemetery up on a hill and the kids always tell us that that’s where drug dealers and stuff take people and kill them. We always just thought whatever, but last night while we were teaching we heard 3 shot gun fires :/ ha. Not sure if someone was killed or what but all the kids were saying “we told you, we told you!” Ha, was kinda freaky, but don’t worry cause were fine. I promise we’re safe. But after that we saw a motorcycle to car accident, ha but he was ok too - just a big cut in his leg. But it was quite the day.

Thanks for the packages. I think my zone leaders go to Salvador next week for a meeting. Maybe they can bring them to me. We’ll see. The port(uguese) is coming along. I can talk to people now which is nice. I still need to learn lots more but its coming. I can teach better now too. I hope everything is going well with you guys. I better get pics of Monty in his costume.
